Valerie Hannan is a fine artist living and working on the east coast of Scotland. Valerie was born in 1969 in Dundee, Scotland and studied at Dundee College and Duncan Of Jordanstone School Of Art And Design in the 1990’s. Valerie works from her studio in Fife on the banks of the river Tay.
Valerie has exhibited in several exhibitions including The Perth Art Society annual exhibition, The Dundee Bonnar Hall annual exhibition, The Broughty Ferry Artist Exhibition, several online gallery shows, and a solo show in her studio in Dundee. Valerie previously taught art from her old studios in Dundee however she is now focused solely on painting in her current studio in Fife. Inspiration Valerie has lived by the river Tay and the North Sea for most of her life. She is inspired by the monumentality of the Scottish weather and the effect this has on the landscape and in particular the waters. “Being able to capture something of the world around me is both a joy and a challenge. Scotland is one of the most beautiful places in the world and my tribute and legacy to my country is to endeavour to interpret some of its magnificence onto canvas.” VALERIE HANNAN |
